A Look Back at 2023 and Into 2024

2023 was a busy year for both Mapon and our clients – while you drove more kilometres and visited more countries than ever before, our main focus was on making the internal mechanisms run smoother. We worked on optimising solutions, increasing the efficiency of our teams and discovering areas for improvement.

A day without meetings – Mapon experience

It is hard to imagine office work without meetings. They have even become a part of popular culture through series such as The Office, in which the character Michael Scott often gathers all employees to hold spontaneous, long and usually purposeless meetings. Every joke has some truth to it, as organisations, including businesses, spend up to 15% of the collective work time in meetings. They can be spread across the week and different times of the workday.

Riches of the Gulf Tiger: Looking back at GITEX GLOBAL 2022

The Mapon team has returned home from GITEX GLOBAL – the largest annual technology event in the Gulf and North Africa. From October 10 to 14 Dubai gathered tech enthusiasts, business representatives and visitors from many different industries, giving us the opportunity to meet with existing partners, form new partnerships and showcase our all-in-one fleet management and asset tracking platform.

Empty cargos and climate goals – Europe in contradictions

Just a while ago the Vice-President of European Parliament Roberts Zīle started a conversation on Twitter stating that after a year of debate the Mobility Package provisions contradicting Europe’s climate goals still haven’t been resolved. Meanwhile, the results of a study conducted by independent experts from the European Commission (EC) estimate that an additional 2.9 million tonnes of CO2 emissions will be generated in 2023 as a result of complying with these rules. What’s even more interesting – there is still no answer as to why this situation arose and how to resolve it.
